Rio de Janeiro (dpa) - Brazilian security forces conducted anti-terror exercises Saturday in Rio de Janeiro just weeks before the Summer Olympic are set to begin, officials announced.

Approximately 500 members of the military and police took part in the drill in the Deodoro district, the public safety authority for the state of Rio said. It was the largest training session of its kind to date.

Soldiers, police officers and firefighters ran through various scenarios including a mock bomb attack on the train system and a shooting. Olympic volunteers mimicked victims.

The entire exercise was overseen by a central command, where security experts from 106 countries will be on duty during the Games.
