Munich (dpa) - Siemens on Thursday confirmed the initial public offering of its medical technology unit, Siemens Healthineers, will be worth 4.3 billion euros (5.3 billion dollars) at 28 euros per share.

Siemens had offered the shares at a range of 26 to 31 euros ahead of the start of trading on the Frankfurt stock exchange on Friday.

A price of 28 euros would value Healthineers - the world‘s largest maker of medical imaging equipment - at about 28 billion euros, making it one of Germany‘s biggest listings in recent years.

Siemens chief executive Joe Kaeser hopes the IPO will allow Healthineers more flexibility through investment and acquisitions.
