Pyeongchang, South Korea (dpa) - Canadian pilot Christopher Spring let his disappointment be known on Saturday after the first two runs of the four-man Olympic bobsled competition.

Spring finished 15th fastest, in a combined time of 1 minute 38.64 seconds, 1.09 seconds off the pace set by Germany‘s Francesco Friedrich, and said actually he had not driven his sled too badly.

"I didn‘t drive amazing on that second run but I hit some important spots up the top, and when I say ‘hit‘ I mean I nailed some important spots up top where I need to be fast.

"I get to the bottom and see this garbage time that‘s given to me. Wasting my time with this shit. It‘s just time after time.

"I do this sport and so many times I see the result at the bottom and I‘m like, ‘What the fuck is going on?‘ Where is the time? It doesn‘t add up to me."

Spring‘s countryman, Justin Kripps, still has a chance for a medal after the third and fourth runs on Sunday - he is 0.58 seconds off the lead pace - while Spring is already considering giving the sport up.

"I said before these Games that I‘m for sure going another four years. I can‘t make a decision on that right now.

"I need some time to figure out if this is what I want to keep doing. It‘s tough to come out week in week out and not be as successful as what you think you should be."
