Several groups interested in Saab, receiver says
Europe
14.02.2012
Stockholm (dpa) - Six or seven groups have expressed interest in
Swedish carmaker Saab, which filed for bankruptcy in December, a
receiver handling the carmaker‘s bankruptcy estate said Tuesday.
Attorney Anne-Marie Pouteaux declined to name any of the potential groups, but said they included Swedish and foreign-based interests.
The receivers were aiming for an "overall solution" that would comprise some form of car production at the Trollhattan plant, Pouteaux told reporters during a conference call.
Pouteaux said the receivers were unwilling to provide details "due to commercial considerations."
"We believe that a deal can be harmed if we are too open about what is going on," she said.
Pouteaux was appointed on December 19, when the carmaker‘s Dutch owner, Swedish Automobile, filed for bankruptcy.
