Kingston (dpa) - A Jamaican medal winner is reportedly among the 31 athletes who have tested positive in retests of samples from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Local news reports said late Wednesday that the name of the athlete was not known but that Jamaica‘s Olympic Committee had been notified and that the results of the examination of the b-sample were being exepcted.

The Jamaica Observer said the athlete in question tested positive for the forbidden stimulant methylhexanamine.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said last month that 31 athletes from 12 countries and six sports were caught in the 2008 retests. In addition, 23 athletes have tested positive in retests of London 2012 samples.

Led by Usain Bolt‘s sprint treble, all of Jamaica‘s 2008 medals came in athletics: six gold, three silver and two bronze.
