Berlin (dpa) - Former javelin world champion Christina Obergfoell wants to end her career at the ISTAF meeting in Berlin on September 3.

"Berlin would fit. I always felt welcome there over the years," the 34-year-old told dpa of Germany‘s leading athletics meet.

The German Olympic bronze medallist from 2008 and silver medallist from 2012 had already announced should would retire after the Rio Olympics which start on August 5.

She had been fretting over her place in Brazil after German rival Katharina Molitor, the current world champion, took legal action after being overlooked for the Games. But Obergfoell has been confirmed for Rio.

"I‘m not angry with Katharina," Obergfoell said, while acknowledging the situation was "not nice."
