Tehran (dpa) - Iran and the European Union are set to hold talks on Tuesday in the central Iranian city of Isfahan.

The 2015 Iranian nuclear deal, the human rights situation in Iran and economic ties are on the agenda for the meeting, state news agency IRNA reported on Saturday.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the nuclear agreement that the United States concluded with Iran in Vienna in 2015, along with Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China.

Trump said in October that he would seek to toughen up the agreement and threatened to walk away from the deal altogether if further restrictions aren‘t imposed on Iran.

Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will head Tuesday‘s talks for Iran, while the EU‘s delegation will be led by Secretary General Helga Schmid of the European Union External Action diplomatic agency.
