Gnabry keeps Germany's Olympic hopes alive in 3-3 draw with S.Korea

Rio de Janeiro (dpa) - A goal in stoppage time by Serge Gnabry gave Germany a 3-3 draw against South Korea to give them every chance of reaching the quarter-finals of the Olympic football competition.

The Arsenal midfielder scored with a deflected free-kick two minutes into stoppage time in Salvador for his second goal of the game.

Germany, who drew their opening Group C game 2-2 with Mexico with Gnabry coming off the bench to score, now have matters in their own hands against already-eliminated minnows Fiji in the group.

Gnabry had equalized with a 33rd minute goal after Hwang Hee Chan put South Korea ahead in the 25th minute.

Davie Selke (55) put Germany ahead but the Koreans hit back through Son Heung Min (57) and Hyun Suk (87).

Mexico and South Korea have four points each while Germany are on two. If Mexico and South Korea draw in Brasilia on Wednesday, Germany will have to score at least five goals against Fiji - who have conceded 13 in two matches - in Belo Horizonte to be sure of progressing.
