Geneva (dpa) - The diplomatic immunity of Saudi diplomats in Turkey should be waived immediately to help the investigation into the possible killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, UN human rights chief Michelle Bachelet said.

"Under international law, both a forced disappearance and an extra-judicial killing are very serious crimes, and immunity should not be used to impede investigations into what happened and who is responsible," the UN high commissioner said in a statement.

Bachelet also urged Turkey and Saudi Arabia to reveal everything they know about the case of the Saudi dissident who vanished after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul two weeks ago.

"Two weeks is a very long time for the probable scene of a crime not to have been subjected to a full forensic investigation," she noted.
