Istanbul (dpa) - The US consulate employee arrested in Turkey last week will be able to see a lawyer on Friday, Turkish Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul announced, according to the state-run Anadolu news agency.

A State Department spokeswoman this week said such a measure would be a "a good start," amid a serious crisis between the countries.
