Moscow (dpa) - Russia informed the Netherlands that it was expelling two Dutch diplomats in a reciprocal measure, state media reported Friday.

The Netherlands and more than 20 other countries expelled Russian diplomats earlier this week in solidarity with Britain, which accuses the Russian state of perpetrating a chemical weapon attack on a former Russian spy in England.

Russia‘s Foreign Ministry on Friday summoned the ambassadors of Britain, Germany, France, Poland and Italy, as well as diplomatic representatives of the Netherlands, Albania, Romania, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Macedonia, state media reported.

Russia the previous day expelled 58 US diplomats from the embassy in Moscow and two US diplomats from the consulate in Yekaterinburg. They were ordered to leave the country within a week.
