EXTRA Miller's desperate dive gives her 400m gold over Felix

Rio de Janeiro (dpa) - Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas dives across the finish line to beat American world champion Allyson Felix for gold in a dramatic Olympic 400-metre final.

Miller entered the home straight first but Felix closed the gap and they approached the finish line side by side before Miller avenged her defeat from last year‘s worlds with a desperate lunge to win by seven hundredth with a personal best 49.44 seconds.

Felix had 49.51 as she just failed to become the first woman in Olympic athletics to get five gold medals. The bronze went to Jamaica‘s Shericka Jackson in 49.85.
