Istanbul (dpa) - Two Turkish security personnel were killed and two injured in clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers‘ Party (PKK) in the restive south-eastern Sirnak province, the state-run broadcaster TRT reported on Friday.

Meanwhile, the state-run Anadolu news agency said 45 PKK members were "neutralized" over the past week. The term can connote death, injury or capture. Additionally, five soldiers were killed this week, the report said.

Fighting between the armed Kurdistan Workers‘ Party (PKK) and the Turkish state was reignited in July 2015 after peace talks broke down, ending a two-year ceasefire. Since then, thousands have been killed.

The government has ruled out renewing talks with the PKK, which it views as a terrorist organization.
