London (dpa) - London wants to expand the availability of British goods on a post-Brexit EU market and to end the direct jurisdiction of the EU‘s top court, according to new Brexit negotiation position papers due to be released this week.

British services associated with goods should be included in negotiations, according to a statement released Sunday from Britain‘s Brexit Ministry.

The papers also reiterate Britain‘s plan to cut the jurisdiction of the Court of Justice of the European Union when it leaves the bloc.

Services arguably constitute Britain‘s most important economic sector, and the nation‘s financial services sector, as well as banks and insurance, are pressing for unfettered access to the EU market after Brexit.

Negotiations have been slow-going, however. A third round of talks is planned for the end of August.

The European Commission has so far refused to speak about a future agreement with Britain until "sufficient progress" has been made on several key issues.

These include the future of 3.2 million EU citizens in Britain and 1.2 million Brits in EU member countries, as well as financial obligations totalling as much as 100 billion euros (118 billion dollars) that Brussels says the British government owes the bloc.

The government of Prime Minister Theresa May has so far not given a clear position on the EU‘s so-called ‘divorce bill.‘

A majority of British voters decided to leave the European Union in a referendum on June 23 last year. Official documents to start the process were filed in March, meaning Britain is set to exit the bloc in March 2019.

The papers released this week will cover five areas:

- Goods and services on the market

- Confidentiality of official documents and information exchanged with the EU

- Civil judicial cooperation

- Jurisdiction of the Court of Justice of the European Union

- Data flows between Britain and the EU
