St. Clement of Ohrid University of (. Климент Охридски — Битола) was founded in 1979, as a result of dispersed processes that occurred in education in the 1970s, and increasing demand of highly skilled professionals outside the country"s capital. Since 1994, it has carried the name of the Slavic educator St. Clement of Ohrid. The university has institutes in , Ohrid, and Prilep, and headquarters in . With its additions in education and science, it has established itself, and cooperates with University of St. Cyril and Methodius from Skopje and other universities in the Balkans and Europe.
