A Region for all Seasons
Situated on the borders of the French and Swiss Alps, surrounded by some of the highest peaks in Europe - Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and the Gran Paradiso - Valle d'Aosta is the smallest Italian region, but also a real paradise for winter sports with 900 kilometers of downhill runs and 300 kilometers of cross-country trails. But not only...

Mont Blanc and powder skiing

A paradise for winter sports
Every year, the region attracts daredevil enthusiasts of snowboarding, powder skiing, heliskiing and frozen waterfall climbing.

In its either huge or smaller ski resorts, fast and up-to-date lift facilities make tiresome queues forgotten, while snow-making equipment takes care of any shortage of powder. Among these ski resorts, Courmayeur-Mont Blanc, La Thuile, Breuil-Cervinia and the Monterosa Ski area — including Alagna-Valsesia— are only the best known.

But it’s not just the first-rate skiing that makes a ski holiday in Valle d’Aosta an unforgettable experience. There’s the warm welcome you’ll receive everywhere you go; the relaxed atmosphere of the tiny mountain villages, where local culture and traditions are still very strong; stunning scenery and wonderful food.

...and summer sports of all kinds
Golf in Breuil-Cervinia
With the coming of summer, there are even more possibilities for open-air sports. Local guides propose programmes of canoeing, kayak, rafting, hydrospeed and canyoning that suit all grades. Adepts of golf can enjoy 5 golf courses and 2 practice fields for training situated amidst splendid settings with magnificent views of the mountains.

You can also experience the freedom of flying by trying out hang-gliding, paragliding and hot-air baloonig, or ride the mountain on two air bubbles! Mountain biking is a safe sport available to everyone, and in Valle d’Aosta you will experience the difference.

Pure nature and culture
Natural parks and reserves, prehistoric settlements, Roman monuments, medieval castles, 17th, 18th, 19th century artistic expressions: this is what every tourist will meet here along his path.

...and fabulous food
Moreover, the Aosta Valley is well known for good food and wine. Obviously, you have to try the Polenta made from mais, the famous “fontina” cheese, a special ham of the area, called “Vallée d’Aosta Jambon de Bosses” and “Mocetta”, air-dried beaf meat as well as many other specialities.

The wine grown in the highest wineyards of Europe, like the white wine “Blanc de Morgex” and the red wines “Fumin” and “Donnas Vieilles Vignes”, to name only a few, are fabulous with the genuine food of the area.
