1ST LEAD Ibrahimovic nominated for Sweden's Olympic football team By Lennart Simonsson, dpa

Stockholm (dpa) - Sweden captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on Wednesday included in the country‘s provisional 35-strong squad for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, but his selection was "a long shot," Sweden‘s coach said.

"I reckon that the chances that Zlatan is along are not too great, but I hope he will," Sweden under-21 coach Hakan Ericson told the Swedish Football Association‘s website.

The 22-man Olympic squad is to be finalized in mid July.

Ibrahimovic, 34, has earlier expressed interest in playing at the Olympics. He is currently with Sweden at Euro 2016 in France.

Three players over age 23 are allowed to be included in the Olympic squad.

"It‘s a puzzle, very complicated," Ericson said, noting that some clubs are willing to allow players to travel to Rio while others are opposed or undecided.

Swedish Euro squad defenders Ludwig Augustinsson of FC Copenhagen and Benfica‘s Victor Nilsson Lindelof were also included.

Euro 2016 runs until July 10, and the Olympics take place August 5-21.

Sweden qualified for the Olympics last year after winning the under-21 European Championships in the Czech Republic. The Swedes will face Nigeria Colombia and Japan in Group B
